Rainbows and Sprinkles

Rainbows and Sprinkles

“I had a dream Holy Spirit was drawing rainbows and sprinkles on my bone hands!” Louise announced one morning last week.

We had gotten together with a bunch of new families and friends. At one point, two older ladies both asked for prayer over similar physical conditions. As we gathered around them my daughter Louise skipped in and wanted to join. All wiggly and excited, she put her hands on one of the ladies. Afterwards she told us all that Louise had placed her hands in the exact two places where she needed healing, and that she had felt heat come from them. We explained to Louise this was the power of God moving through her, celebrated both of the ladies’ breakthroughs and thanked Jesus! Someone called out another couple who they felt needed to be ministered over next. Louise loved watching the ways the Holy Spirit moved through everyone – unashamedly all up in their faces. Back pain was healed and there were lots of “happy tears” (as Louise says) as hearts received Jesus’ words and embrace through one another.

Two days later she announced in the morning that she had a dream. She described how the Holy Spirit was painting rainbows and sprinkles on her “bone hands.” For the last year she always randomly announces how she does NOT like bones and is scared of them (ever since seeing Halloween decorations outside people’s homes). We’ve explained the original beauty and purpose of bones – she’s still not a big fan – but this dream has changed her mind about her own bones lol. We remembered together what rainbows mean: God keeps His promises! All of God’s promises are yes in Jesus.

I love how children sometimes more freely receive how the Father wants to show us His Word and His world. I love that it was the Holy Spirit painting the promises of God on her bones as we are born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. We carry the death and resurrection of Christ in our bodies (2 Cor 4:10)!

I thought the part about the sprinkles was just something cute God knew she’d like, but later that day I continued my reading in the book of Hebrews. I just happened to read how we are “sprinkled with the blood of Jesus (Hebrews 10:22).”

To put it like a child, we have rainbows and sprinkles in our bones from Holy Spirit because we belong to Jesus!

Jesus is still saying “let the little children come to me.” They receive His language so well and allow God to move through them however He pleases. I think we’re going to start seeing children come to the forefront more, teaching us about Jesus’ Kingdom and hearing His voice in this day. Those who surrender to childlikeness and welcome the Spirit of God to bring the Word of God to life will have hearts to receive.

  1. How delightful! What a teachable moment! I really like sprinkles and rainbows 🌈 Especially from Jesus!

  2. For He is our Father and we are His children. As I close my eyes and medidate on Louise dream, I cannot stop thinking about gathering together, holding hands with the body of Christ. We share His sprinkles and we commit to serve Him and each other.
